FROM MY PERSPECTIVE
For one of its famous virtual happy hours, Hall Wines trades A-list celebrities for top real estate agents — and picks the ultimate place to host them
I can tell you that Coeur Cabernet Sauvignon tastes especially good 14 stories up in the Dallas sky.
I just had the good fortune to be part of a virtual wine tasting hosted by vintner Kathryn Hall and developer Craig Hall. The Halls, who live in Dallas and California, happen to have the perfect place for hosting an online tasting of the wines they produce out west at their Hall Wines: the superluxury, 28-story high-rise they have developed in the Dallas Arts District, called Hall Arts Residences.
About 40 of us — including top agents from several brokerages — logged on to learn about three wines that Kathryn and Craig sent us ahead of time. I plugged in from 1401, one of the tower’s beautiful models. Real estate blogger Candy Evans was my neighbor in 1402, another model. The Halls hosted from their own home in the building. And, Cindi Caudle and Kyle Richards, the two agents at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty who exclusively represent Hall Arts Residences, logged on from model residence 201.
It was one entertaining call! (Maybe the BACA Zinfandel had a little something to do with that.) The Halls explained the wines while we tasted them and shared our impressions. Cyndi, Kyle and I had fun pairing the wines with the perfect places to sip them at the tower. The Wine Room, with its long wood table and cork walls? The airy Club Room on the Arts Terrace? The glass-enclosed Wine Cellar, where every home gets a private wine locker? There are so many great places — indoors and out — to enjoy life’s little pleasures at Hall Arts Residences, amid city views you literally can’t believe.
I could get used to life there. I bet you could, too. And, if you need a wine suggestion for your new home, I now know of a tasty Sauvignon Blanc that I can highly recommend.
