No matter where you live — or where you're from — there is a lot to celebrate in North Texas this Independence Day. Though July 4 falls on Sunday this year, cities, towns and neighborhoods have all kinds of plans for the days around – and on — this momentous occasion.
One that's near and dear to Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty is the annual Park Cities Independence Day Parade, this year on Saturday, July 3. It kicks off at Highland Park Town Hall at 9 a.m. and proceeds north on Preston Road to University Boulevard, heading east until ending in Goar Park. The post-parade fun there will include an outdoor movie, a bungee jump, a rock-climbing wall, an outdoor concert and SMU football players signing autographs. We've been a proud sponsor of the Park Cities parade for many years, as both University Park and Highland Park are two of our favorite places in the world. (After all, we were founded in the Park Cities in 1960.)
All of North Texas is home to us — as our expert agents live and work in all of its great areas. See below for some of the patriotic goings-on all over North Texas, all in celebration of one wonderful, meaningful Independence Day.
