What the CEO says: 'Try finding longevity like that anywhere else in the real estate space'

Below is his letter of June 12, 2020.  FROM MY PERSPECTIVE Who are we? As matches go, this is as close to perfect as it gets. One of us was founded in 1960, offering the finest homes in the area. The other was founded in 1744, offering the finest possessions in the world. One of us has grown into the No. 1 luxury brokerage in North Texas, representing homes, high-rises, ranches, land and commercial properties. The other has grown into a global luxury business, representing art, jewels, wine, automobiles and more. One of us has always been about superb service to our clients. So has the other. I’m talking about our brokerage — if you haven’t guessed — and the one and only Sotheby’s auction house. Together, we’ve got almost 340 years of experience in quality, in trust, in things that last. Think about that. And, try finding longevity like that anywhere else in the real estate space. The Sotheby’s International Realty® network grew from that heritage, when the auction house realized, “If we can sell the art on the walls, maybe we should sell the walls.” Thus, the realty network was founded in 1976 to provide independent brokerages with a powerful marketing and referral program for luxury listings. That has since blossomed into operational, marketing, recruiting, educational and business-development resources that are unmatched. That is a big part of who we are. Who else are we? We are tech. We have built a website beyond compare. Our agents have added virtual-reality tours live-streaming open houses to their already-stellar toolkits. We have digital tools and digital resources that no one could’ve imagined. Now, our clients and our agents have at their disposal — anytime, anywhere — the technology and information needed to make informed and impactful decisions. We are people. Our agents are the best in the business, backed by the best team in the business.
