What the CEO says: In a new world, how a brokerage is blazing virtual trails

Each Friday, Robbie Briggs, president and CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, writes about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is his letter of May 8, 2020.  FROM MY PERSPECTIVE Making it safe and sound and easy The health and wellbeing of everybody — our agents, clients, friends, families and communities — remain our top priority, as it has since we opened in North Texas, in 1960. Last Friday, I told you about briggsfreeman.com/tour, the premier new place for all of our homes and ranches that have video open houses and/or virtual reality tours as part of their online presentation. Our briggsfreeman.com/tour is a safe place where you can stay in your current home while you explore potential new ones. But what happens next, when you fall in love with a property or two or five? The short answer: We have made everything about real estate virtual. Just one example? As an alternate to in-person meetings, our agents offer consultations via video conferencing. It can be quite fun. You’ll go over the key things you’re looking for so that we can come up with the perfect plan. We offer virtual home showings, too. Our agents or someone on their behalf can lead you on a video tour, to show you a property at your pace and to help answer any questions you have along the way. And, if a seller is unable to let anyone into the home for any reason, we will find a solution, such as a seller-hosted video tour. If you happen to be a seller, the news is just as exciting. We offer virtual listing consultations, too. Our agents will schedule a video conference call so you can show us your home, hear about our specific strategies for today’s market and begin to formulate a marketing plan — to get you the most for your property in the least amount of time. As a technology-robust brokerage already, we’ve even made the closing process virtual, for everybody. One example: We provide digital paperless offers, so buyers can submit their offer from anywhere. In fact, all of our buyers and sellers can electronically sign any documents with ease. Our flexible technology allows us to offer virtual buying or selling for every home we represent, so that everyone can stay safe and sound. It’s easy, too, and it’s efficient. We’ve summarized it all for you at briggsfreeman.com/virtual. But behind all those immersive tours and seamless technology are more than 400 of the finest, kindest, real-est people you could ever meet, in person or virtually: the agents of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. When it comes to buying and selling homes safely, in any way, they are here to help. And as things do ease back open — whether that be open houses or our offices across North Texas — we will follow every protocol for safety and cleanliness, as we have been all along. Remember: We’ve been taking great care of our clients since 1960. We’ve got you. Robbie Briggs President and CEO Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty rbriggs@briggsfreeman.com
