One Big Saturday. Two Little Traditions. (And The Thing That Ties Them Together.)

Two BunniesEach Friday, Russ Anderson, the president and CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty and the CEO of Pacific Sotheby's International Realty, writes about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is his letter of March 27, 2026.

FROM THE PRESIDENT'S P.O.V.

I love traditions — especially happenings that return without fail.

Tomorrow, our brokerage’s agents are involved in two community traditions — wildly disparate but with one thing in common, which I will explain.

First, come have your picture made with a fluffy, funny bunny — a charming little part of the big Spring Shopping Stroll in Highland Park Village, the center’s annual extravaganza of in-store experiences and promotions. I love the bunny booth: Some of our agents who specialize in Highland Park and University Park sponsor it each year, and it is the place to see rascally rabbits and the antics that happen with the townspeople who come to pose with them. The whole stroll is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; the bunnies will be hopping — I had to — from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Art Piece by Taz BentleyLater that day is Gallery Night in Fort Worth, a twice-yearly tradition hosted by the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association. It is an exceptional way to explore participating galleries, museums, shops and restaurants and see the work of the many artists featured. Each Gallery Night, our office at 4828 Camp Bowie Boulevard is transformed into a showcase of paintings, photography and more by local artists. It has become a must-do destination for art lovers, who get to meet our agents, too — several of who work very hard putting this together. Gallery Night is from 2 noon to 9 p.m.; our show opens at 3.

Two different traditions. Two different towns. But the thing that binds them together? Our brokerage’s deep ties to the communities where our agents live, work and serve. I don’t know any group of people who love their neighborhoods — and their neighbors — more.
