On a day devoted to thanks, I am beyond thankful.
I’m thankful for our clients, who our agents work with every day, finding and selling homes and making some dreams and goals happen. I’m thankful for every one of those advisors, who give it their all, with great confidence and humor and skill. I’m thankful for the staff that supports them, in every way, with advice, tools, intuition and experience.
We are all so lucky. Others, not so much. Please think of the far less fortunate than us, who may not have a home or who need help getting by. Our advisors help all year, organizing food and clothing drives, plus filling those famous red bags with gifts for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. We have our own donation program, too, called Love Your Neighbors, funded by advisors who voluntarily donate a percentage of every sales commission, plus a corporate contribution we make. This year we’re able to help support charities in the areas where we have offices: Aledo AdvoCats (Fort Worth West); Justin’s Place (Fort Worth); Grace (Southlake); Minnie’s Food Pantry (The North); Interfaith Family Services (Lakewood); and OurCalling (Turtle Creek).
We also had the privilege of being a sponsor of this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas, which benefits two local groups: Dwell with Dignity, the nonprofit that provides needy families with complete home interiors; and The Crystal Charity Ball, which supports children’s charities throughout Dallas County.
Let’s keep the help coming so that everyone has a little more peace. Today is a good day to talk about it — and every day is a good day to do something about it.
