How to roam the most decorated house in Dallas (and why you absolutely should)

Each Friday, Russ Anderson, the president and CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty and the CEO of Pacific Sotheby's International Realty, writes about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is his letter of October 31, 2025.

FROM THE PRESIDENT'S P.O.V.

If you are as obsessed with homes as we are at the brokerage, you have one week to mentally and physically prepare: The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is back.

Nowhere else can you see no-limits decorating like this. Almost 30 local and national designers are scrambling to finish their rooms inside one of the finest French Neoclassical creations in Dallas, the handsome 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard, with its pediments, pilasters and balconettes. The doors will open from November 7 to 23.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House has become a premier design event here — an extension of the legendary New York showcase that has inspired the industry for nearly 50 years. Each year, a team of the most celebrated interior designers in the country turns a residence into a dream house of over-the-top spaces and ideas. (Pay special attention to this year’s Dallas talent: Doniphan Moore Interiors; Jean Liu DesignSamantha Fisher Interior Design; Sees Design; Shane & Pierce; Studio Thomas James; and Yates Desygn.)

The proceeds from this spectacle support the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in New York, which serves thousands of young people across the Bronx. The Dallas event also benefits Dwell with Dignity here, the nonprofit that provides needy families with complete home interiors, including furniture, bedding and food, and The Crystal Charity Ball, the Dallas institution that supports children’s charities throughout Dallas County.

We are proud to be a part of it, as a sponsor. Your only task is to come see rooms you may never forget. Tickets and details are at kipsbaydecoratorshowhouse.org. And bring your house-obsessed friends. With 25,000 square feet of wow to explore, there’s room for everyone.
