Each Friday, Russ Anderson, the president and CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty and the president of Pacific Sotheby's International Realty writes about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is his letter of February 14, 2025.
FROM THE PRESIDENT'S P.O.V.
As I write this, many of our own agents and lots of their colleagues from around the Sotheby’s International Realty network are hunkered down in a training room in our Dallas headquarters, perfecting the art of client communication, as coached by a world-famous leader in that realm, Melanie Frank of Ninja Selling.
Just a week before, our agents were furiously taking notes while another stellar expert, Rand Stagen, gave them tools to help shift their mindsets into even more resourceful ones — and how to avoid being trapped in the Drama Triangle. (Look it up.)
A week before that, publisher Ollie Chandhok, below, editor-in-chief Will Anderson and senior account executive Cheryl Hood of the Dallas Business Journal, a top North Texas news publication, came to dish about hot real estate topics, to a room packed with our agents.
This kind of learning and exploring is key to being a real estate advisor at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. Not only are these already the best agents in the business, they are also the most curious professionals I know, constantly seeking to better their businesses and their relationships.
That’s why we offer our own classes, too, all year long, led by our own in-house experts. Our advisors can polish their skills on winning a listing, working even smarter with their clients, finessing their strategies about offers and contracts, refining their marketing, and even enriching their expertise around the closing table. No other brokerage does it like we do — with in-person guidance and online resources that are available anytime, anywhere, for any situation.
We look at like this: All this expert intel and expert advice makes for even more expert agents. (And that is very good for you.)
I couldn’t be more proud of — and more in awe of — ours.
