Each Friday, the executives of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty write about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is president Russ Anderson's letter of March 24, 2023.
FROM THE PRESIDENT'S POINT OF VIEW
As you read this, we’ll be sending off a most colorful bunch as they head for the airport and the open road: some of the finest ranch agents in the industry.
Our brokerage and our own amazing ranch-and-land team here in North Texas have been hosting them for our first-ever Ranch Networking Event, modeled after the epic Global Networking Events put on by Sotheby’s International Realty, wherein the world’s finest residential agents come together for networking, seminars, celebrity speakers and a lot of fun.
Yes, these ranch specialists have come for three days to see some of our ranch listings and to have said fun — live music performances, a Mexican fiesta, bounding about in ATVs — but they have also come to get to know each other even better.
You see, our network is our secret sauce. No one else has it. Just like our residential agents do, our ranch agents connect their clients to properties all over the country and the world, not just Texas. Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, you name it: They can make it happen and they do, every day, whether those clients are looking for weekend getaways, income-generating spreads or investment properties.
I can tell you this: The ranch market is hot. While rising interest rates have affected many areas of the country, ranch sales in Texas haven’t had a discernible drop in demand or prices. We are starting to see new inventory trickle in — much needed, after the buying frenzy of the past couple of years — and the continuing concerns about the overall economy have made an investment in Texas land look even safer and more appealing, especially because owners can enjoy making memories on a ranch while it appreciates in value.
Talk to one of our ranch-and-land experts. Not only do they know investments, improvements, wildlife and livestock, they know the magic of the land — the big things that come from getting out under bigger skies and having bigger thoughts.
Come see what we’ve got at briggsfreeman.com/ranch. In the meantime, I’ve got a margarita to finish up and some cowboy boots to kick off.
