CEO Robbie Briggs: Why high-rises and beautiful buildings are hotter than ever

Each Friday, the executives of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty write about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is CEO Robbie Briggs' letter of March 10, 2023. FROM MY PERSPECTIVE

High-rises are hot. Buildings are big.

Vertical residences are getting a lot of attention and it’s no wonder: High-rises and mid-rises, both new and established, offer that magic mix of valuable amenities — pools, gyms, valet parking, dog parks — plus remarkable proximity to green spaces, boutiques, restaurants and all kinds of cultural diversions.

We are honored to be the exclusive brokerage for three superb buildings in Dallas — one move-in ready, one to be completed soon and one on the horizon. Below is a little bit of intel about each. (Come see more at briggsfreeman.com.)

HALL Arts Residences: This a crown jewel in the Dallas Arts District. With a unique focus on wellness, this 28-story superluxury tower offers its residents light-filled homes, a resort pool, fitness studio, wine room, wine cellar, dog park and putting green, plus priority access to all the luxuries at the next-door HALL Arts Hotel. hallartsresidences.com

The Terminal at Katy Trail: This eight-story Contemporary beauty, inspired by the world’s great train stations, is nearing completion, sited directly along Dallas’ beloved walking, biking and running trail. It is home to just 16 sumptuous residences, each with corner windows, a beautiful terrace and sweeping views. There will also be a paseo walkway that bisects the building’s base, complete with unusual shopping and dining experiences. theterminalatkatytrail.com

Rosewood Residences Turtle Creek: The news just broke about this exciting high-rise coming to Dallas’ Turtle Creek neighborhood in 2025. It will be 17 stories, designed by the noted Lucien Lagrange as a modern-day spin on classical Beaux Arts architecture and managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, famous for its five-star properties around the world. Just some of the luxuries here? Residence ceilings between 10 and 12 feet high, a rooftop oasis with infinity pool and lounge, a library, a fitness center, a private dog park and a pet spa. residencesturtlecreek.com

I’m telling you, living in a beautiful building is truly life on another level. I can back that up: My wife, Nancy, and I just traded our house for a high-rise. Now we are on vacation, every day.

Wish you were here.
