Proud Fort Worth native Mary Carolyn Gatzke has an intricate and often unmatched knowledge of her hometown's real estate market, from downtown to the suburbs. Ask her about the history behind the "Central City Classics," the term she coined for the charming older neighborhoods inside loop 820. Or spend some time picking her brain about the parking situation at any condo building in one of Fort Worth's urban areas like downtown, the West 7th District and the Near Southside. Test her knowledge on Aledo, Crowley, Keller and other neighborhoods sprouting up outside "the loop." She won't be stumped.
M.C. forged a not surprisingly uncommon path to the real estate industry. In 1997 she earned a B.A. from Southwestern University, followed by a master's degree in sports administration from Baylor University. A collegiate athlete, she followed her passion for sports to a career in sales and marketing for the Big 12 Conference, the Dallas Stars and the Texas Rangers before parlaying her natural talent into a career in real estate. Prior to co-founding a boutique real estate firm in 2013, M.C. worked as a broker associate for nine years. Known as an industry pathfinder, she is committed to keeping current with today's changing real estate business.
This commitment, along with more than 200 closed transactions representing buyers and sellers, has earned M.C. professional designations as an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), and Historic Home Specialist designated by Historic Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Association of Realtors. Most recently she was recognized in Texas Monthly with the elite in her field as a Five-Star Professional 2012 - a customer-service award nominated and voted on by past clients.
In addition to real estate and her city, M.C. has a deep love for sports, entrepreneurship, dogs and her children, although she wouldn't place them in that order. Regardless of geography or subject matter, M.C. is hardly ever at a loss for words as her charmingly opinionated reputation precedes her. When she isn't driving real estate sales, M.C. is proudly driving her minivan through Tanglewood with her husband, Ben, and three children - 5-year-old Ethan and 2-year-old twins Clay and Mary Morgan.
