Arlene Kirkland is a native New Yorker but has lived more than half her life as a Texan. Although she may still love New York sports teams, her soul is deep in the heart of Texas. Clients describe her as outgoing, personable, and “knows how to get things done”. Friends describe her as loyal, compassionate and generous. Her knowledge of the Dallas market is extensive, and has been successful in relocating multiple clients to Dallas.
Before joining the Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty team, Arlene was the manager of marketing and branding for a local senior living community, where she developed collateral, videos, digital content and ads to support multiple lines of business. Her knowledge of social media advertising and B2B marketing is extensive. Before this position, Arlene was put to the task of raising four boys and being the home economist.
Arlene and her husband raised their four boys in Dallas. The oldest graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and now lives in New York City. Arlene continues to try and convert him to a Giants and Knicks fan-- to no avail. Their sons have gone to both public and private schools in Dallas and she has a deep knowledge of the pros and cons of each. Supporting the schools her children attend has always been paramount for Arlene. She has held various roles at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School (President of STA Mother’s Association, Parents Association Board, Carnival Committee Chair, Auction Committee Chair) and Mockingbird Elementary (Auction Chair, PTA Board member and Yearbook Editor). Her greatest volunteer accomplishment was raising $1 Million for the Jesuit College Preparatory School auction. Other notable positions held at Jesuit CP are Parents Executive Board, Jesuit Woman’s Auxiliary Board as Historian, Social Chair, Christmas Bazaar Chair, Raffle Chair, Underwriting Chair and member of Mom’s in Prayer. Underwriting Chair for the SPCA, Love of the Lake, and The Human Impact are places where Arlene has also given her time and talents.
Arlene loves playing competitive tennis, going to her kids' sporting events, and cooking. Arlene had a catering company for several years and believes the real joy in cooking comes from cooking for others. Arlene claims, “The biggest compliment I can ever get is an empty plate!”
