Elaina Kay grew up on her family’s ranch in Wichita Falls, Texas. Up at 4:00 a.m. every day, she helped farm while also raising cows and cutting horses. In between her ranch chores at dawn and dusk, she discovered a love for music.
For college, Elaina loaded up her horses and headed to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, where she joined the rodeo team. When not studying or participating in a rodeo, she played her guitar and wrote songs. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in biology while continuing to pursue her music career. Nashville beckoned so Elaina moved to Tennessee and continued singing her way throughout the South.
Kay’s album, Issues, was released in August, 2019. In October, Kay went on the road supporting Rhett Miller of the Old 97’s and then closed out the year opening a few shows for Wynonna Judd. She started 2020 on a west coast tour with Jason Boland & The Stragglers.
Currently a resident of Dallas, Texas, Kay has been nominated for a Dallas Observer Music Award as well as a Central Track Music Honor for “Best Country Act.” She was also published in a feature in Rolling Stone in 2019.
For the past two years, Elaina Kay has worked in residential appraisals in Dallas and is eager to pursue her real estate career. She has a passion for working hard, not only for herself but also for others.
