Susan Thornton
Global Real Estate Advisor | Sales Associate
She frequently works with clients relocating within North Texas or moving to the area for the first time, offering insight into neighborhoods, schools, and the lifestyle considerations that shape day-to-day living. Through the Sotheby’s International Realty global network, she also assists clients moving out of the area by connecting them with trusted advisors nationwide, ensuring continuity and confidence throughout the transition.
Susan holds the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation and is a member of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. Her work has been recognized by Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty and by regional publications including Fort Worth Magazine, 360 West Magazine, and DFW Real Producers. She consistently receives five-star client reviews, reflecting her commitment to service, communication, and results.
She brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to every negotiation, combining in-depth market insight with a composed, solutions-oriented mindset. Her goal is always to create the strongest possible position for her clients while navigating each conversation with professionalism, discretion, and confidence.
Susan approaches real estate with the perspective of someone who has spent a career guiding people through meaningful life transitions. Before entering the profession, she dedicated 25 years to Texas Child Protective Services, advocating for children and families across the state. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, and the skills developed during that work—careful listening, thoughtful problem-solving, and steady guidance—continue to shape the way she serves clients today. She has been a full-time real estate advisor since 2016.
A native Texan, Susan spent many years living in Fort Worth’s TCU area before relocating west to Aledo with her husband, a retired Fort Worth police officer. Her personal familiarity with both established neighborhoods and the growing communities across North Texas allows her to guide clients with a practical understanding of the local housing landscape—from long-standing residential areas to emerging markets attracting new residents to the region.
Outside of her professional work, Susan remains closely connected to the community she serves. She served as a Tarrant County Master Gardener for ten years and has volunteered with the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. She and her husband are active members of St. John Lutheran Church in Mansfield, and she serves as a mentor with Academy 4, working with a fourth-grade student in Mansfield ISD. She enjoys gardening, spending time with family and grandchildren, and exploring the neighborhoods that make North Texas feel like home.
Her work reflects a belief in guiding each client’s home journey with service and expertise—building lasting relationships while navigating important decisions with care, thoughtful perspective, and discretion.
