CEO Robbie Briggs, on the new homes with stories yet to tell

Each Friday, Robbie Briggs, CEO of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty, writes about luxury, trends, business and more in the advertising pages of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal. Below is his letter of July 9, 2021.

FROM MY PERSPECTIVE

There is nothing like a house with history.

So many of the homes we represent have been loved for generations. Some are architecturally significant, designed at the height of certain stylistic period. Some are both.

But, there is something uniquely exciting about brand-new homes — homes that have every modern luxury from the start. Homes that still have their stories ahead of them.

In this business, we call them new builds, or new construction. They come in every architectural style you can imagine. We most often represent these homes before the first bit of earth is moved — when they’re just a twinkle in an architect’s eye. That’s because our agents have developed special relationships with builders, architects and developers, who now know that working with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty is key to the success of their projects.

I want to highlight just a few of our spectacular offerings that are either under construction or about to be.

6915 Baltimore Drive in University Park: This is a masterwork of a Mediterranean, with almost 24,000 square feet of luxuries, including spectacular marbles and stones, a proper movie theater and an underground garage for a collection of cars.

8712 Canyon Drive in Bluffview: Already under contract, this will be a Contemporary showplace — a collection of large boxed volumes that will contain a chef’s kitchen, prep kitchen, game room, study and hidden-away owner’s retreat.

7250 Waters Edge Drive in The Colony: Imagine a very sleek Contemporary villa, elevated on its lot to overlook Lake Lewisville. This stunner will have a private office, gym, theatre, wine cellar and multiple terraces. And a rooftop deck — with a putting green.

I told you these new builds had it all. Come see them at briggsfreeman.com. Search for our exclusive listings, then check the box that says New Construction.

I think you’ll love what’s new.
