As an avid outdoorsman, Matt Heytens has trouble staying in an office with desks and computers. He prefers to live and work in the outdoors. Matt lives and breathes his passions – hunting, fishing, running, and snowboarding. He truly believes that a life lived in the outdoors is a life well-lived. He takes great pride in being a Texan and loves showing off his great state and all that it has to offer – from the piney woods in the east to the rugged mountains in the west and from the grasslands in the north to the vast brush-country in the south.
Prior to BFSIR Matt spent several years in Citi’s Global Energy Group in Houston, TX, where he was a Corporate and Investment Banking Analyst. During his time with Citi, Matt advised on several billion-dollar transactions across the oil and gas sector. He helped to underwrite several acquisition financings and supported the loan-making process from inception until close. Matt’s experience in investment banking gives him a unique set of skills that have proven to be invaluable when it comes to facilitating, negotiating, and closing deals. His desire to exceed his clients’ expectations is what drives him to see the ranch buying process through to the end while providing unparalleled support, expertise, and knowledge along the way.
Matt is from Austin, TX, and is an alumnus of the McCombs School of Business where he studied Finance and Energy Management. During his four years at The University of Texas at Austin, Matt was involved in numerous student organizations including the Texas Cowboys and YoungLife. Matt is an avid runner having completed three marathons (including the Boston marathon) and one 50-mile ultramarathon. He enjoys fly fishing in Colorado and Alaska, hunting across Texas, and snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains.
Matt’s dream job is to help people find a place they can call home and create lasting memories they will share with friends and family for lifetimes to come. He desires nothing more than to help people enjoy the great state of Texas and all that it has to offer. Beautiful houses, rolling hills, lakefront views, and Texas sunsets are just some of the perks of the job that he gets to enjoy for free.
