The information age was born in Dallas when Nobel Laureate Jack Kilby invented the first computer microchip at Texas Instruments Corp. Twenty-two Fortune 500 corporations are headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Dallas and Fort Worth both have world-class arts districts.
      
In Dallas, the growing arts district offers museums, concert and performance halls and one of the nation’s premier high schools for the visual and performing arts. Dallas / Fort Worth is also one of the nation’s best sports towns with professional sports teams at various levels.     
         
Moving to DallasWithin 100 miles of both cities lie numerous public parks and more than 60 lakes. Fair Park near downtown Dallas features the largest collection of buildings designed in 1930s art deco style. And under development is a 5-acre park linking Uptown and downtown across a major highway. Also under development is a major park and lake system along the Trinity River.
