Derek Gustafson

Derek is a 3rd generation Park Cities resident with a family background in oil and gas as well as commercial real estate. He grew up learning the intricacies of managing, buying and selling real estate first observing and then working with his parents and grandparents. This ignited a passion for real estate and architecture which is reflected in his dealings with clients and other industry professionals and has fostered his expertise in the Dallas Park Cities, Preston Hollow and Downtown areas. Whether helping the seasoned buyer purchase his next investment property or the retired executive sell the family home, Derek believes understanding critical price points in the real estate market, educating clients about every aspect of the process and open, consistent communication are keys to representing his clients beyond their expectations. Derek has a natural desire to help others, which is the most rewarding part of his career and gets the most enjoyment from his career by knowing he has truly helped his clients and their families. While attending Westminster College in Missouri, Derek began working as a firefighter and EMT, which has since become a passion. Derek continues to be a nationally registered EMT and spend his free time volunteering and helping others. Derek lives in Highland Park with his wife, Kimberly, and their two daughters.
