Take a Wall Street banking background, add to that executive experience in '80s crisis management, and you get a real estate professional who can be summed up in one word today: invaluable. Senior Vice President Mike McMahon possesses these qualities and more, constituting one half of Briggs Freeman’s top producing team for 2008.

His wife, Linda McMahon (whom he first started dating in 8th – yes, 8th – grade), was a top producer and Senior Vice President for Briggs Freeman for years before Mike joined her in the business in 2005. Their work together takes service and experience in real estate to a new level.

In today’s financial climate, Mike McMahon has bridged the gap between lender and client on more than one occasion. He speaks the “lender’s” language helping to bring everyone together so they are on the same page. He works through solutions that ultimately bring transactions to the closing table.

* He convinced a bank there was a better option than foreclosure.

A strategic thinker, he solves problems. In one instance, he convinced a bank that allowing him to find buyers was a better solution than attempting foreclosure on a several properties. Builder, bank and buyers were all grateful at the end of what the title company attorney described as one of the most complicated transactions she had seen in her years of title work.

Their core priority, Mike says, is taking care of their clients – something that doesn’t end with each transaction. “We want serving our clients to make a difference. Our clients are more than business – they are valued friends, personal relationships.” The circumstances around buying and selling homes are often complex and require customized solutions. For example, after selling a client’s home in the midst of a tragic situation, he and Linda became a part of the team counseling the family through important “next steps.”

Mike McMahon holds an MBA and BBA from the University of Texas at Austin. His career has included senior level executive experience in operating companies, financial service companies, and non-profit organizations. He also has purchased at-risk companies and turned them around. For one company, he grew sales from $7M to $20M in four years.

Mike is actively involved in leadership in his church and is a member of CEO Netweavers, an organization of executive-level businessmen who seek to transform business and enrich lives through servant leadership.
