Gene Taylor
Executive Vice President
Director of Sales and Agent Development

Gene Taylor brings strategy and innovation to the selling and negotiation process in his leadership role at Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty. Since joining the company in 2011, Taylor has recruited top agents specializing in prime neighborhoods. He has helped the company grow annual sales from $600 million to just under $2 billion, making it the top luxury real estate firm in the area with the highest producing sales associates per capita in terms of production of any firm in the Metroplex.

“We have great success stories of agents joining our company and maybe closing $5 million in sales, who went to $10 million the next year and $30 million or $40 million the following year,” says Taylor. “If that is your goal, to take your business to the next level, we have the proven track record to get you there.”

Taylor’s working style involves directly interfacing with agents, whom he inspires and motivates so their business will grow. Taylor also is known for creating an office environment where every agent is the best that he/she can be. His ultimate goal is to ensure that clients receive extraordinary service.

“If your goals match our strategy, with our culture, it’s a win-win,” he says.

Taylor’s deep roots as a native Texan support his continued success in real estate. Born in Hillsboro and raised in Corpus Christi, where he learned the love of sailing and all things related to water, his hard work and talent for fund raising have benefitted the Junior League of Dallas, the Park Cities YMCA, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Phi Gamma Delta.

With a degree in accounting from Texas Tech University, Taylor has brought his ease with numbers to the business of real estate. Earning his residential sales license in 1985 and his broker’s license in 1988, he has been immersed in Texas real estate ever since.

Taylor's commitment to the industry is exemplified by his extensive involvement in the MetroTex Association of Realtors. Rising through the Government Affairs and TREPAC Committees to the Board of Directors, he served as President of the Association and holds the unique honor of receiving the Association's two highest awards: The Lois Hair Bernays Award as Salesperson of the Year and the Easterwood Cup as Realtor of the Year.
